What is the solution to fraud? PAPER BALLOTS. It is so simple. Go back to the paper trail. It takes a long time to alter paper ballots, whereas electronic voting can be changed in a fraction of a second.
EXIT POLLING EVERYWHERE AND BELIEVING THE RESULTS
Challenging the vote and bringing in outside programmers to examine the computer code of the electronic voting machines whenever the exit poll doesn’t match the vote count. Exit polling was a very accurate method until about 1992. Then it began to vary wildly from the final tally.
CONDUCT A PAPER COUNT VERSUS THE ELECTRONIC COUNT WITH THE SAME DATA
Compare the paper count to the electronic count. Ion Sancho, Supervisor of Elections in Leon County, Florida used this method and caught the electronic fraud every time.
PUBLISH VOTING COUNT ONLINE ANONYMOUSLY
Another solution is to publish every vote anonymously. Every ballot has a number. You could take your ballot number and go online and check to see if the computer accurately counted your vote. The County Registrar of Voters could publish every person’s vote online anonymously by the number that was on your ballot. Every category could be checked- governor, secretary of state, attorney general, etc. by your anonymous number. If you left a vote blank, then no one could fill it in for you because you would see the fraud online.
After this, every vote made in the whole state and the tally could be printed anonymously by ballot number. Once the entire vote is printed online, secondary outside computers could take that vote and check for tally accuracy for the entire state. This is entirely possible to do in this age of computers.
The answer to election integrity is COMPLETE TRANSPARENCY and VOTER ID.
The answer to malfeasance in elections is becoming informed and informing everyone you know. Tell everyone you know that Dominion is proprietary software and let’s get this changed.
Some people want open source code. If using open source code, Avi Rubin cautions that the images that you see as the program may not correspond to the source code. Also, one would have to verify that the compilers used on the source code are not malicious.
Proprietary software has a whole lot of holes in it when it comes to counting our vote. Transparency in voting means that the Registrar of Voters and an outside programmers have access to the computer code and can check for accuracy. Transparency also means publishing the entire vote online anonymously. Outside computers would then be free to check the tally. Complete transparency is the best way to achieve election transparency.
